In October 2015 I was fortunate to be accepted as a rider to race for RP VISION Women’s racing team who use Epic Coaching to coach some of the riders. I have had a great year with both RP Vision and Epic Coaching. During the past twelve months I have been coached by Michael Heavens from Epic Coaching. I have seen massive improvements in not only my ability to race with the best juniors in the country but also the confidence I have going into races. The communication channels Epic use are brilliant, I feel fully supported not just by Michael but by all the other coaches associated to Epic.

My main targets for 2016 season were to gain confidence in my ability as a bike rider. The results I achieved during the season were better than I expected. I wanted to do well in the junior women road races. The EMRRL Bourne Wheelers, the very first junior road race in the UK in May was an early opportunity to see where my strengths were and how my fitness compared to other junior riders. Early in the race I made a break with another two riders and stayed away, within the latter stages we were joined by a group of five riders. I was really pleased with a fifth place finish.

I had the opportunity to be a guest rider for the Liv CC Epic team at The Green Jersey North West Junior Tour with Jess Roberts, Emily Tillett and myself making a team of three. I knew stage two, the hilly road race suited me. Four riders, myself included, made a break of 2 minutes 30 secs up on the overall GC. As I was a 3rd CAT rider staying up with three 1st CAT’s, I was pretty please with my race. I came 4th overall on the GC and Liv CC Epic won the team category.

For the 2017 season my team will be Liv CC Epic and as a second year junior I now have the confidence to set goals big goals as I have a strong coach-rider relationship with Michael. I also want to race more on the boards as I love the speed and the thrill of racing in the velodrome with my favourite race being the Madison!
