A day on the Flanders cobbles in Belgium for the 70km Junior Womens Nation’s Cup round. With strong winds and crashes causing havoc, the peloton was whittled down from 170 starters to 40. After a moment of panic, Pfeiffer Georgi saw her opportunity and jumped with 7km to go. Meanwhile her LIV – Epic teammates took control of the peloton, keeping all attacks in check, and assisting Georgi in gaining a maximum of 52 seconds ahead of the second placed Amber van der Hulst. Lauren dolan and Elizabeth Bennett unfortunately both came down in a crash at the start of the last lap which one of the pre race favorites Patanosta from Italy was also caught up in.
Despite the poor luck, the team managed to claim the overall team prize – a true testament to their dedication and hard work. The team now looks ahead to its next race, the 3 Days of Bedford, where they’ll look to continue their great form, and progress their team skills.
